Exciting is continuing to build ahead of the 2018 Cheltenham festival with many of the key trials having been ran and the markets now becoming a lot clearly for punters. Day one looks set to showcase a lot of short priced favourites with three likely odds on favourites come race time. These three being Footpad in the Arkle, Apple’s Jade in the Mares and Buveur D’Air in the Champion Hurdle.
Footpad’s jumping has looked an extremely important asset in his starts to date over fences and with this of great importance round Cheltenham he is likely to take all the beating. The latest Cheltenham betting on the race has him as the clear favourite as he looks to enhance Mullins and Walsh’s incredible festival record. Apple’s Jade is likely to start as the shortest priced favourite at the meeting and if she brings the form she has shown in all her recent starts to date she is impossible to oppose and is banker material.
Day one’s showcase event is the Champion hurdle and last year’s victor Buveur D’Air will be looking to continue his impressive run and join a select group of multiple winners in the race that includes the same connections Istabraq.
